Volunteer Awards and Recognitions
Through Adult Recognitions we celebrate the
excellent work of volunteers as they make a difference in the lives
of girls, other adults and the council.
All leaders and volunteers are acknowledged
on National Girl Scout Leader Day (April 22) with a token of appreciation
from Girl Scouts of Spar and Spindle Council.
Outstanding
Leaders are awarded the appropriate recognition
when they are recommended by the girls and parents affiliated with
the troop. Rookies of
Year are nominated by the Service Team for outstanding
contributions by leaders during their first year with a troop. Outstanding
Volunteers are recognized in their Neighborhood
for service other than troop leadership through nominations submitted
by their peers.
And contributions that are particularly
outstanding, above and beyond expectations are recognized by the Appreciation
Pin, Honor Pin, Thanks Badge and Thanks Badge II.
The Council Recognitions Task Force reviews nominations for these
awards. The
Adult Recognitions Chart
provides information on each award and its requirements.
