About Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts is the world's preeminent organization dedicated solely to girls - ALL girls, where, in an accepting and nurturing environment, girls build character and skills for success in the real world. In partnership with committed adults, girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives – like strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth.

Girl Scouts of Spar and Spindle Council, Inc.
Girl Scouts of Spar and Spindle Council was formed in July 1980 with the merger of the Merrimack and Hawthorne Councils. The name is derived from the regions served by the Council. "Spar" represents th seafarers of the North Shore, and "Spindle" represents the textiel industry associated with the Merrimack Valley.

Our Mission
We dedicate ourselves to inspire girls with the highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism, and service that they may become happy and resourceful citizens. Girl Scouting is a movement that gives girls from all segments of American life a chance to develop their potential, to make friends, and to become a vital part of their community. Based on ethical values as expressed in the promise and law, Girl Scouting opens up a world of opportunity for girls. Its sole focus is to meet the unique needs and interests of girls.

Our Vision
Girl Scouts of Spar and Spindle Council is committed to being the preeminent organization dedicated solely to all girls in our jurisdiction, by providing an accepting, nurturing, and fun environment to build character and skills for success in the real world, in partnership with committed adults.
